Oregon Tradeswomen; Empowerment, Education and Advocacy

One of our favorite things at Elliott, Powell, Baden, and Baker is having the opportunity to bring attention to incredible non-profits making a difference in our community.  This month we would like to highlight oregontradeswomen, an  EPB&B insured since 2010.

Founded in 1989, Oregon Tradeswomen helps transform lives by building community and economic independence through empowerment, training, career education, advocacy, and leadership development in the skilled trades.  It is founded on the principles that women can attain economic self-sufficiency by pursuing careers in the construction, manufacturing, mechanical, and utility trades while helping the construction trades industry to build a diverse workforce.

“It is a very cool program,” says EPB&B Commercial Lines Account Manager, Ronni Phillips, “ and the women who run it are all fantastic.”

And if that isn’t impressive enough, please check out Girlsbuild, run by former Tradeswoman staff member, Katie Hughes, an organization that inspires curiosity and confidence in girls through the world of building.

Thank you for all you do to help change the lives of others in our community.
