Christmas Day marks the one year anniversary of the passing of a member of the Baker family, Josh Brown, who lost his life in a tragic car accident. Josh is the nephew of Elliott, Powell Baden and Baker President, Marc Baker and the loss to his friends and family has been profound. It is on this one year anniversary that the Baker Family is asking the community to consider making a donation to the Josh Brown Youth Memorial Soccer Scholarship.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Josh know that he was man who had two great passions; playing soccer, and coaching kids in the sport he so loved. It is in his honor that his family created the Josh Brown Memorial Youth Scholarship fund. This scholarship works under the umbrella of the Baker Family Foundation in conjunction with Elliott, Powell, Baden and Baker Insurance. One hundred percent of the money donated to the fund is used to cover the cost of playing club soccer for two or more selected players annually and have a demonstrated passion for the game, who without financial assistance, would otherwise be unable to play their sport at the club level. This past year, the Baker family had the honor of supporting two local players, Zaid and Lily both from Oregon Surf, FC .
It is the generosity of the clients, professional partners and team at EPB&B , along with the support of the people in the Portland Community that allows The Baker Family Foundation and the Josh Brown Youth Memorial Soccer Scholarship to continue it’s mission of providing help and hope to those in our community and we thank you.
Josh had two passions, kids and coaching. Please help us honor Josh by supporting the Josh Brown Youth Memorial Soccer Scholarship and helping support youth who may not otherwise be able to afford to play the sport they love. The family appreciates any support that supports this mission in the name of Josh.
