Congratulations to our friends at Rogue Creamery in Central Point for being awarded the SBA Director's Impact Award by Gov. John Kitzhaber during the SBA Small Business Week Luncheon at the Portland Art Museum.

Every spring, the SBA recognizes small businesses across the country during Small Business Week.  About 98% of the employers in Oregon are small business owners, and these awards were created to recognize the hard work, commitment and perseverance of those owners.

Rogue Creamery has been named one of the Top 100 Best Green Companies in Oregon for the fourth consecutive year.  Since co-owners David Gremmels and Cary Bryant took over in 2002, Rogue Creamery has been dedicated to sustainability in cheesemaking, fully participating in the 3 Rs: reducing waste, reusing whey and using recycled content in packaging.

Marc Baker spent Monday, February 25th in Salem at the State Capitol visiting with Senators and State Representatives from all over Oregon. He met with Senator Bill Hansell, Representative Julie Parrish, Representative John Davis, Representative Michael Dembrow, Representative Chris Gorsek and Senator Brian Boquist. EPB&B and Safeco Insurance helped "make more happen" with a generous donation of $2000 for Feed The Hungry of Milwaukie, Oregon.  Regional Manager, Casie Bowers presented the check to Executive Director of Feed The Hungry, Phil Wallace, at our office in Downtown Portland.  "We are absolutely thrilled to make this happen for Feed The Hungry" said Susan Anderson, Personal Lines Account Manager for EPB&B.   Susan has been involved with this charity for more than 12 years and recently arranged an EPB&B Feed The Hungry Day where various staff members cooked and served over 150 members of the community.  This is an exceptional cause and I'm so happy we could help out !!

EPB&B held our 5th annual holiday open house on Friday December 2nd to benefit the Oregon Food Bank.  Over $2400 in cash and several tons of food were collected for the worthy local charity.  This event has become a tradition that we look forward to every year.  We invite insurance company representatives to join us for an open house that features Huber's famous Spanish coffee and hors d'oeuvres in addition to a silent auction and raffle to benefit Oregon Food Bank.  Thanks to everyone who attended and helped us reach our goal.  A special thanks to the fine folks from Ron Rothert Insurance!!
